Summary

PVT properties of R1234ze(Z) (cis-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene) were measured by a metal-bellows volumometer and a constant volume cell. Density in the liquid phase and vapor pressure were measured in the temperature range from 310 K to 410 K using a metal-bellows volumometer. Densities in the gaseous phase with vapor pressure were measured at the temperature of 310 K using a constant volume cell. Based on the data of vapor pressure, an Antoine type correlation was formulated. Correlation reproduced the present data with the standard deviation of 2.3 kPa. Using correlation of vapor pressure with critical temperature of 426.8 K, critical pressure and acentric factor were determined to be 3702 kPa and 0.300, respectively. Based on the data of liquid density, isotherms were correlated. The correlation reproduced the present data within the standard deviation of 8.9 kg/m3. Saturated liquid density was obtained by substituting vapor pressure to isotherms. The correlation of saturated liquid density was also formulated. Based on the data of gaseous density, isotherm was correlated. The correlation reproduced the present data with a standard deviation of 0.6 kg/m3. Saturated vapor density was obtained. In comparison with calculation from Hankinson Thomson equation, saturated liquid density by this correlation deviates about -6.4 kg/m3 at 310 K and 26.8 kg/m3 at 410 K from that by Hankinson-Thomson equation. In comparison with calculation from Peng-Robinson equation, compressed gas density by this correlation deviates within 0.9 kg/m3 from that by Peng-Robinson equation.
