Summary

Measurements of PvT(pressure-density-temperature) properties and vapor pressures for new low GWP refrigerant R-1234ze(Z) (cis-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoroprop-1-ene; CF3CH=CHF) were made by the isochoric method. Pressure measurements were made by a digital quartz pressure transducer and pressure indicator. Temperature was measured with 25 O standard platinum resistance thermometer and thermometer bridge. Density was calculated from the sample mass and inner volume of pressure vessel. Nineteen vapor pressure data for R-1234ze(Z) were obtained in the temperature range from 310 K to 420 K, and pressure up to 3.33 MPa with individual three runs. On the basis of these vapor-pressure measurements, a correlation of vapor pressures was proposed. Two hundred and thirty-six PpT property data for R-1234ze(Z) were obtained in the temperature range from 310 K to 440 K, and pressure up to 6 MPa along eleven isochors. In addition, the critical temperature Tc, critical density pc, and critical pressure Pc were directly determined by the visual observation of meniscus disappearance.
