French food banks lack cold storage.

Cold storage capacities have not kept up with the trend.
For the last 30 years, food banks have been fighting food waste. With changing lifestyles, the nature of the donations to the French food bank "La Banque Alimentaire" has changed, leading to a larger share of fresh products and frozen foods.

But positive and negative-temperature transport and storage capacities have not kept up with the trend. The food stores are not always well equipped and refrigerated collection devices are lacking.

This is a new challenge for the food bank with donations on the rise and many distributors committed to limit the destruction of foodstuffs.
