Summary

THE REPORT EVALUATES AND DISCUSSES THE RESULTS OF TESTS CARRIED OUT ON AN INSULATED CONTAINER AT VARIOUS EUROPEAN TEST STATIONS. A NUMBER OF RECOMMENDATIONS ARE MADE IN THE REPORT TO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE OF INDIVIDUAL TEST STATIONS, AND THE FOLLOWING AMENDMENTS TO THE ATP AGREEMENT ARE PROPOSED: 1) THE OVERALL ACCURACY OF THE < K > COEFFICIENT BE AMENDED TO MORE OR LESS 5%. 2) THE MEAN TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE BE INCREASED TO 30 K MORE OR LESS 1 K. 3) INTERNAL AIR VELOCITIES SHOULD BE DEFINED AS 0.5-1.0 M/S AND RECOMMENDATIONS GIVEN REGARDING TYPE AND POSITION OF FANS AND HEATERS. 4) CABLE LOSSES SHOULD BE EXCLUDED FROM THE POWER MEASUREMENT. 5) TEMPERATURE SPAN SHOULD BE REDUCED TO 2 K MAXIMUM INSIDE AND OUT. 6) TEMPERATURE DRIFT DURING THE 12 HOURSSTAYEPL D FLUCTUATION IN TEMPERATURE MAY BE ALLOWED UP TO MORE OR LESS 0.5 K PROVIDED THE MEAN TEMPERATURE IS THE SAME AT THE COMMENCEMENT AND END OF THE 12 HOUR TEST. 7) ALL RESULTS OF (20 DEG C) MEAN WALL TEMPERATURE AND PRESENTED AS SUCH ON THE TEST CERTIFICATE. 8) AN AIR LEAKAGE TEST SHOULD BE MANDATORY AND A PROCEDURE DEFINED.
