REMODELLING OF A DECENTRALIZED MECHANICAL REFRIGERATION SYSTEM BY CENTRAL ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION WITH INTEGRATED STORAGE FACILITIES.

Summary

IN A PLANT FOR PHARMACEUTICS, COLD BRINE IN A WIDE TEMPERATURE RANGE IS USED FOR CHILLING PRODUCTION. A CENTRALIZED AMMONIA ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION SYSTEM UTILIZING WASTE HEAT FROM A COGENERATION PLANT WITH GAS TURBINES AND OPERATING CONTINUOUSLY CAN COVER THE TOTAL REFRIGERATION DEMAND. THE PLANT IS SPLITTED INTO A CENTRAL HP-UNIT NEAR THE WASTE HEAT RECOVERY AND SEVER LP-UNITS FOR BRINE CHILLING AT DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES NEXT TO THE CONSUMERS IN A LONG DISTANCE TO THE POWER STATION. CONCEPT, DESIGN, PERFORMANCE AND SPECIAL FEATURES ARE DESCRIBED.
