Summary

A CO2 transcritical cycle with an ejector is proposed to reduce the expansion-process losses of the basic CO2 transcritical cycle. During the first step of the present work, a constant section model was developed for the ejector to perform thermodynamic analysis of the CO2 transcritical cycle with ejector. The model is based on the conservation of mass, energy and momentum. This modelling made it possible to simulate the variation of the relative performance of the cycle over a wide range of cycle operating conditions : source temperatures and compressor discharge pressure. In a second stage, experimental tests were performed to validate the developed model.
