Heat and mass transfer in consolidated reacting beds for thermochemical systems.

Transfert de chaleur et de masse en milieux réactifs consolidés pour systèmes thermochimiques.

Summary

The filling of a chemical heat pump reactor with a porous reactive medium governs widely the heat and mass transfers in this reactor and, therefore, its performances (heat power and capacity). The filling operation consists in mixing the salt which takes part in the solid-gas reaction and an inert graphited binder, and in confining this mixture to obtain a given apparent density. According to the binder property and the mixing technique, the values (experimentally obtained) of the effective conductivities, of the heat transfer coefficients at the exchanger wall and of the permeabilities change in a very large scale.
