Résumé

Numerical computations towards fully developed, compressible and laminar oscillatory flow inside a circular tube are conducted. Multiple-order Nusselt numbers are used to describe the heat transfer characteristics, where the 0th Nusselt number denotes the time-averaged quantity and the other orders denote the instantaneous variations in one oscillation period. Emphasis is focused on the 0th Nusselt number, as the time-averaged heat transfer characteristics are of great interest for the practical applications. The dependences of the 0th Nusselt number on Peclet number and maximum Reynolds number are presented and analyzed. Computed results show that, in the fully developed region, the 0th Nusselt number almost keeps constant for maximum Reynolds number ranging in the laminar flow region. Contrastively, the 0th Nusselt number increases with an addition in Peclet number, which indicates that the Peclet number has significant impact on the time-averaged heat transfer characteristics.
