Résumé

Historic buildings constitute 20% of the built environment in our country. Since built heritage can be more easily preserved if buildings keep their function and role, specific maintenance interventions to refurbish the buildings from the energy point of view are needed. Although historic buildings are usually excluded from the obligation to meet specific energy standard, energy related aspects should be anyhow faced and managed in order to exploit the building “usability” potential, realising acceptable condition for what concern indoor environmental quality and energy efficiency. The energy refurbishment of this kind of buildings is, nevertheless, a very complex matter, opening a number of question concerning the aspects of conservation and valorisation of the building. In this paper a not invasive techniques such as thermal plaster applied on the internal side of the building envelope is investigated. Thanks to their relatively easy installation and reversibility, thermal insulating plasters seem to represent a very interesting solution able to offer a good compromise between energy and conservation aspects. The aim of this work is to present a thermal insulating plaster, vegetal based, which has been recently developed by Vimark srl and to investigate its potential to reduce the heat flux exchanged through the vertical envelope of historic buildings, through a set of measurements carried out both in laboratory and in field, in a case study.
