Résumé

After analyzing the energy efficiency of existing air conditioning systems, the main issues concerning the low efficiency of air conditioning system are analyzed, including one kind of cooling/heating source used, unnecessary resistance of components in the air handling unit and that for air delivery, mixing of fresh air and return air, not fully utilizing natural energy and waste heat, etc. To solve these important issues, the concept of grade of air conditioning load (i.e., the reasonable medium temperature to treat air), the influence of different terminals and air distribution on the quantity and grade of air conditioning load, how to construct the air handling process with multiple stages to match the grade of air conditioning load and energy, and the ideal energy efficiency of air conditioning system which generates proper grade of energy and fully utilize natural and waste energy are introduced. Finally, the energy consumptions between the existing air conditioning system and the ideal air conditioning system are compared, and the energy efficiency loss of the existing air conditioning system is analyzed. It shows that the energy consumption of an existing air conditioning system can be decreased by 59% after eliminating the efficiency losses. The lecture can provide important guidance on the development of energy-efficient air conditioning systems in different countries.
