Mesurages optiques du film liquide et des ondes pendant la condensation en écoulement annulaire à l’intérieur d’un canal.

Optical measurements of liquid film and waves during annular-flow condensation inside a channel.

Résumé

Liquid film thickness measurements during condensation can provide significant information about the condensation heat transfer mechanisms. During condensation in vertical downflow, annular regime is the most recurrent flow pattern and the vapor-liquid interface is usually rippled. Therefore, it is crucial to accurately predict the liquid film thickness for the characterization of the interfacial waves and for the development of heat transfer models. In the present paper, liquid film thickness and heat transfer coefficients have been measured during vertical downflow condensation of R245fa inside a 3.38 mm inner diameter channel. The test section is composed of two tube-in-tube heat exchangers connected by a glass tube having a special shape that allows the simultaneous employment of a chromatic confocal sensor and shadowgraph technique for the measurement of the liquid film thickness. An ad hoc algorithm has been developed for the statistical characterization of the waves structures.
