Résumé

The absorber is the most critical component of the vapor absorption refrigeration system. Since the performance of an absorber has a significant effect on overall system performance and cost, enhancement of absorption is important. Absorption of vapor occurs at the vapor-liquid interface and its absorption rate is affected by wettability and the interface behavior. A numerical simulation is performed in order to investigate the effects of noise-driven wave on steam absorption in falling film of LiBr aqueous solution. Waves are generated by disturbing the inlet with random noise. Result showed that random noise in the inlet first generates irregular wave and after few transitions solitary waves are appeared in the downstream. Instantaneous absorption rate is compared with the result of smooth film. Result shows that wave enhances the absorption rate over smooth film. Details enhancement mechanism is discussed with the help of temperature and concentration contour.
