Résumé

In heat pump systems with CO2 as refrigerant, ejectors can replace expansion valves to reduce expansion losses. This work covers preliminary studies for the integration of an ejector in a 1 MW high-temperature heat pump with CO2 as refrigerant. The geometric relations inside two-phase ejectors significantly influence their efficiencies. For small-scale CO2 ejectors the geometric relations that result in high ejector efficiencies are known, although only little information is available for large ejectors. This work therefore focuses especially on investigating the feasibility of a simple geometric scale up for the ejector. Therefore, in this paper we present the design of a large-scale ejector and experimental investigations of a small-scale ejector. The experimental data of the small-scale is used to extend a modelling approach to simulate the large-scale ejector. Furthermore, in this paper we show a numerical model of this 1 MW ejector-heat pump implemented in the modelling and simulation language Modelica. This model enables the prediction on COP improvements resulting from the integration of the ejector in the CO2-heat pump.
